Professor Shawna Dolansky

Shawna Dolansky is Assistant Professor of Religious Studies. She received her BA from Queen's University in Canada, with a dual major in history and philosophy. She received her MA in Judaic Studies and her PhD in History, studying the history of Israel in the biblical period, at the University of California, San Diego.
After earning her PhD, she was a faculty fellow at UC San Diego and an adjunct instructor at San Diego State University before coming to Northeastern. She is the author of Now You See It, Now You Don't: Biblical Perspectives on the Relationship Between Religion and Magic (Eisenbrauns, 2008) and the editor of Sacred History, Sacred Literature: Essays on Ancient Israel, the Bible and Religion in Honor of R. E. Friedman on his sixtieth birthday (Eisenbrauns, 2008).
